Inspire their imagination with a workshop for preschoolers

Noodle North Sheffield is going into Wombwell Library on Monday, October 29 for a FREE interactive workshop. The session, aimed at two to five-year-olds, is based on the popular children’s picture book ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae. Activities will include dancing, singing and drama and the workshop will start at 2pm. Book a place by calling the library on 01226 773555.

Cook up a witches’ brew while you shop

Get ready to take on some revolting recipes in the Witches’ Kitchen at Meadowhall. The shopping centre is holding free Halloween-inspired sessions from Monday, October 29 to Sunday, November 4. Children will help Scratch the Cat find the vital missing ingredient for a culinary creation at the Cordon Bleurgh school and meet wicked witch Gruella De’Spill and the monstrous master chef Marco Pierre Fright. Children must be accompanied by an adult and tickets are available from the Meadowhall website.

Roll up, Roll up for the Greatest Show in town

On Thursday, November 1, Noodle North Sheffield will be holding a three-hour holiday club based on the popular musical film, The Greatest Showman. Your child will get to grip with circus skills and hone their theatrical talents with activities involving singing, dance and drama. The workshop is suitable for children aged from four to 12, and runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Wickersley Community Centre and Library. There is no need for parents to stay and places can be booked onlineat £18.50 per child with a 20% discount for siblings.

Pick up a pumpkin on a trip to the farm

No Halloween would be complete without a pumpkin. Choose yours from the pumpkin patch and even get someone else to carve your design for you at Cannon Hall Farm, near Barnsley. The attraction’s Pumpkin Festival runs on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 and then from October 27 to 31. Children will also be given a spell book and asked to complete a series of challenges in the Witches Wood and there are 15-minute spooky shows on throughout the day. Ticketsare £10.95 (under-twos are free) and include all-day admission to the farm, playgrounds and soft play area.

Choose a holiday club with a Halloween twist

Noodle North Sheffield is holding its very own Halloween Holiday Club on the big day itself at Inman Pavilion in Stocksbridge. Running from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, October 31, it will include three hours of ghoulish games, devilish dancing and creepy crafts without any parents around to spoil the fun. Suitable for boys and girls aged from three to eight, the session costs £18.50 with a 20% discount for any additional siblings. Fancy dress is optional and tickets can be booked here.

Meet some monsters at The Moor

The Moor in Sheffield is holding its Little Monsters Halloween Party on Sunday, October 28. With funfair rides, food stalls, fancy dress and spooky storytelling, there is plenty to keep little ones busy at this free city centre event. Activities take place between 11am and 5pm.

Head to the library for some paranormal performing arts

Take part in some Halloween-themed performing arts at this free one-hour workshop at Goldthorpe Library in Rotherham. Organised by Noodle North Sheffield, it will start at 1.30pm on Tuesday, October 30. The session, for children aged three and up, will include games, singing, drama and dancing.
